Checkout Process

Checking out involves the following steps . . .

1. Press the Checkout Button

To pay for your items, press the "Checkout" button on the View Cart screen:

This will take you to PayPal, our payment processor.

2. Login to PayPal

You will be shown a welcome screen for PayPal, indicating your shopping cart subtotal:

Pay To: This will say "Better Than Paint".
Payment For: Here you can click the "View Contents" link to see the contents of your shopping cart
Currency: This indicates the currency of your transaction
Amount: This is your subtotal (not including tax and shipping)

If you are already a PayPal customer, you can login using your e-mail and PayPal password. If not, you can proceed to payment without logging in by pressing the appropriate button.

3a. Pay for your Items (no PayPal Account)

This step only applies if you do not have a PayPal account.

If, on the previous screen, you indicated that you do not have a PayPal account, you will be shown a screen like the following:

Be sure that the "Shipping Required" box is checked, otherwise we will not know where to ship your items.

Please fill out the form as indicated.

If this address is the same as your billing (credit card) address, be sure to check "Yes" under "Billing Address" at the bottom. Otherwise, click "No", and you will be asked for your billing address on the subsequent screen.

Click "Continue Checkout" to proceed to the next screen.

On the next screen you will be asked for your billing information (credit card number, address if different from shipping, etc.)

IMPORTANT: Be sure your billing address matches the address on your credit card statement exactly.

Be sure to enter your billing address (if different from your shipping address), your credit card number and other contact information. Answer the security question, add any notes you wish to add, and press "Continue Checkout".

NOTE: Your credit card will not be charged yet. On the next screen, you will be able to verify your information.

On the subsequent screen, you will be asked to verify your information.

Please look it over and verify that it is correct. If it is, then press the "Pay" button. Otherwise, press the "Back" button on the page to return to the previous screen.

After you press the "Pay" button, your card will be charged, and you will see a final "Thank You" screen:

3b. Pay for your Items (with a PayPal Account)

After logging in to your PayPal account, you will be shown a screen that looks like the following:

Under "Source of Funds", your default payment method will be selected. You can change this by selecting "More Funding Options".

Under Shipping Information, be sure to select or enter a valid shipping address. Do not select "No shipping address required".

When you are done, click the "Pay" button at the bottom. You will then be taken to a "Thank You" screen.

4. Your Receipt

After you have paid for your items, you will be e-mailed a receipt, that looks like the following:
