Whenever you build a scale model or craft, you have to paint it. But painting has a number of drawbacks. First of all, it is messy. You have to secure your work area with newspapers or drop-cloths. Then, when you paint, you have to make sure your brush strokes are even and don't cause "brush marks" in the paint. Or, if you are spraying, you have to be careful the paint doesn't bead-up and run down. You usually have to apply at least two coats. If you want to have precision paint jobs with more than one color, you have to do masking. Finally, you have all those fumes! (Let's not even talk about all the cleanup you have to do, especially if you get the paint on your clothes or the carpet!) It's a messy job, and it takes a lot of work to make it look good.
"Better Than Paint" offers an alternative to all of this. We offer an adhesive film that you simply "stick on" to your model. All you have to do is cut it into the shape you need it, apply it to your surface, and Voila!, you have a professional paint job without all the fumes and runny mess. It's that simple!
What makes it even better is the precision cuts you can make with it. You can do custom lettering, designs and accents on all of your projects, simply by cutting the film to your specification. To do that with paint, you would have to cut out your design as a mask, apply the mask, and then paint your shape hoping none of the paint seeps behind the mask. But with the film, you simply cut it, apply it, and then your done.
